Paul Gascoigne expressed deep sorrow upon learning about the passing of his close friend Ricky Hatton. The renowned boxer was tragically discovered deceased in his residence in Manchester in September, sending shockwaves through the sports community.

Ricky Hatton, a prominent figure in the world of boxing, was laid to rest at Manchester Cathedral last month, with a multitude of individuals lining the streets to honor his memory. An investigation revealed that he had been found hanging.

At 46 years old, Hatton, a devoted Manchester City fan, had strong ties to football beyond just the Etihad Stadium. He had collaborated with former England footballer Gascoigne on a speaking tour, where their similar personalities forged a strong bond.

Gascoigne shared his fond memories of Hatton during their time together, emphasizing Hatton’s generosity and kind-hearted nature. Despite Hatton’s successful boxing career of 45 wins and three losses, it was his down-to-earth demeanor that endeared him to many.

Following Hatton’s tragic death, his family described him as more than just a champion, highlighting his roles as a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Despite his past struggles with mental health and addiction, his family stated that he was in a positive state before his passing.
